The African Development Bank’s Special Envoy on Gender, Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, was named “2016 New African Woman of the Year” by the pan-African magazine New African on Thursday 10 March in London.
The prize, a tribute to her “outstanding” work to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment, brought to a close a week of celebration of the International Day for women’s rights, which the Bank marked in a number of ways.
