Ghana to host 12th CAADP Partnership Platform in April

Ghana — The 12th CAADP Partnership Platform will be held on 11-15 April 2016 in Accra, Ghana, by the African Union Commission and the NEPAD Agency.

Africa should facilitate exchange and learning to advance and attract increased investments and financing for agriculture.

The 12th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme Partnership Platform (CAADP PP) will be organised under the Theme ““Financing African Agriculture and Implementation Support for accelerated Agriculture Growth and Transformation”- with the main objective to facilitate exchange and learning to advance and attract increased investments and financing for agriculture.

More specifically, the PP will take stock of the various efforts towards endorsing the features of the most appropriate vehicle for sustainable financing to achieve set goals and targets for the next decade.

The 12th CAADP PP meeting will reflect on African socio-economic development strategies to stimulate agriculture- led growth and country commitment to put agriculture at the top of national development agendas.

The CAADP PP will be opened by the AUC Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture, H.E Rhoda Peace Tumusiime and the NEPAD Agency’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ibrahim Assane Mayaki.

Also in attendance will be High level African Leadership, Regional Economic Communities, senior policy makers from government ministries, farmers’ organizations, the private sector, civil society, research community and development partners.
