“The A PC spreads red carpet for the Chinese Communist Party of China ahead of an official visit to Sierra Leone from the 18th to the 19th of January 2016. The APC confirms the visit and wants the general public to know,” the party states, adding that the Chinese delegation will be led by the Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Wang Jiarui.

The People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Sierra Leone established diplomatic relations on July 29, 1971.

The visit, according to the APC, is with the view to enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries and two political institutions.

“The APC wants it to be known that during the visit, meetings could be arranged with HE President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Sheku Badara Basiru Dumbuya so that both sides could hold in-depth discussions on the relations between two ruling parties, two countries and two legislative institutions.

The APC applauds both parties would share ways and experiences of governing the state and government affairs as well as issues of common interest.

“The APC as a show of political tolerance will take the Chinese visitors to the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party,”says Cornelius Deveaux, Deputy National Publicity of the APC.
