The Anti-Corruption Commission of Sierra Leone has indicted nine persons in the High Court of Sierra Leone on various corruption offences.
Emmanuel Showers and Thailu Kallon, employees of the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) in Bo, are indicted on one count each of unlawfully causing electronic machine to perform a function directly resulting in loss of public revenue contrary to section 28(2) (a) of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008.
Saidu Bobson Kamara and bundu Conteh, employees of the catholic Relief Service in Makeni, are indicted on one count each of conspiracy to commit a corruption offence contrary to section 128(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008.
Joko C.R. venn, principal of Russel Technical Secondary School and Ahmed m. Bangura, an employee of the Freetown City Council, are indicted each on one count on abuse of office contrary to section 42 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2008.
Abu Bakarr M. Kamara is indicted on one count of impersonation contrary to section 76 of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008.
Mohamed Osman Sesay and Denis Jones, are indicted on one count each of conspiracy to commit a corruption offence contrary to section 128 (1) and seven counts each of deceiving a principal contrary to section 40 (3) of the Anti- Corruption Act 2008.
Mohamed Osman Sesay has already made his first appearance before Justice Miatta Samba of the High Court in Freetown, while co-accused Denis Jones is still at large.
